If you could do it again, what would you do differently? Although running a business can be challenging at times, seeing the smiling face of a child after their first adjustment, or watching someone get up from the adjustment table without any pain, is always rewarding. We are dedicated to our patients and that keeps us motivated. So after over two decades of practice we wouldn't change a thing. The challenges we face help guide us to our success!
What's the hardest part of the job? The easiest? When dealing with the public you are constantly faced with challenges. Important things to remember are to listen and communicate well. Throughout our normal daily office practices, there is a lot of trial and error in trying to be as efficient as possible, but we try to learn from our mistakes. No matter if it is patient care or billing insurance, Gibbons Holistic provides honesty and integrity with all its practices. Ultimately, we are here to assist people on the path to wellness, but it is the patient who has the final decision to make about the direction of their care. Sometimes it is difficult not to take their decisions personally since we so are actively involved in our patients' care. We view each and every patient as a part of the Gibbons Holistic Chiropractic & Wellness Family, so getting up and coming to work everyday is truly rewarding.
What's your least expensive product or service? Our least expensive product is wellness or preventative care. By educating people on how the body works and how regular treatment can maximize their potential, it allows you to get the most out of your care for the least expense. The ideal chiropractic patient understands that finding the cause or root of the problem, and then, making and maintaining lifestyle modifications is the best way to prevent the issue or problem from reoccurring. And ultimately, this is the best lesson and least-expensive gift we can offer our patients.
The most expensive? Most expensive product is lack of understanding. Besides chiropractic and wellness care, our office does a great deal of educating our patients. We lecture on numerous topics from back safety at work (and) proper posture (to) stress handling, healthier lifestyle, etc. In addition, we offer therapeutic massage and yoga classes. Some people choose not to take advantage of all we have to offer and ultimately do not completely understand what "wellness" means. Thus, they return to our office repeatedly for pain control. This can mean more visits, more frequently and ultimately quicker degeneration to their bodies.
Describe your worst customer or experience. Sometimes it is challenging to stay on focus/ on purpose, especially with the overwhelming attitudes throughout society for "quick-fix" remedies. However, this also enables us to see where we need to improve our communication and education on more natural care. Usually natural healthcare, such as ours will prevail, but it does take patience. We have noticed that most chiropractic patients tend to be healthier than the general population. This is due to the view of the body as a "holistic instrument " and our wellness concepts that we instill in our patients.

What other activities is Gibbons involved with? Dr. Gibbons volunteered treating the rescues workers at Ground Zero from October to December 2001. We are also the official chiropractors for the ABA Basketball team the Jersey Express. They are a minor league team and play out of Drew University. Dr. Coffey recently accompanied them to Singapore, when they were invited to play an ABA team there. We will be participating in the Parsippany) Mayor's Health Fair that is to take place at the PAL on Saturday April 5. We have always been involved with the community here in Parsippany. Dr. Gibbons has been a sponsor of youth soccer teams for the last eight years.
